Medical Record-Analyse

Weighing & analysis measurement of your body composition

Weighing is possible at every consultation appointment up to 300 kg and is carried out at the beginning of the consultation hour . The analysis measurement of your body composition (up to 150kg) , the bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), is also part of the consultation if required and you will receive it within the consultation at no extra charge.

Assessments of your height in relation to your weight can be made using the BMI (body mass index). In addition, it is advisable to take a more precise measurement of your body composition in order to make more precise statements about your nutritional status, which the weight alone cannot give precise information. That means with the 1st measurement we get an impression of the current situation of your nutritional status. With the further measurements we can  then make treatment success visible and thereby motivate even more by seeing that you have lost fat and not muscle mass, which is our goal.

The BIA measurement gives us answers to the questions:

  • How much muscle mass, i.e. protein, do you have in your body? Display in kg

  • What is the value of your body fat mass in%?

  • What is the value of your visceral fat mass (= organ fat in the abdominal area) in%?

  • What is your total body water in%?

  • Your personal physique value

  • Bone mineral mass

  • Basal metabolic rate

  • Metabolic Age / Metabolic Age

  • Weight & BMI

  • You will receive 5 separate segmental values (for arms, legs & torso), each of muscle measurements & fat measurements -> For example, unequal muscle ratios can be recognized and compensated for through targeted training.

Goal: Better distribution of fat and muscle mass.

Medical bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is a scientifically recognized method:

Work is carried out with the latest technology and a high-quality top model for particularly precise measurement results for analyzing your body in five segments: right and left arm, right and left leg and central abdominal area, using 8-point electrodes on the footsteps and palms of the hands. This measuring method achieves 100 percent body coverage.

The measurement provides detailed information about the percentage of body fat and muscle mass. The segmental analysis of the body composition is medically valid, i.e. exact measurement results are the result, unlike body fat scales, which only measure from the feet to the navel, the BIA measurement determines the composition of your entire body by also using the hand measurement. Due to the dual frequency technology, the measurement guarantees high accuracy and good reproducibility of the measurement results.

The measurement of the body composition is very suitable for diagnosis and follow-up:
  • for healthy people / athletes / bodybuilders
  • when losing weight (weight loss)
  • in diseases
  • in case of malnutrition / underweight
  • in the event of disturbances in the water balance such as B. in intestinal, kidney and heart diseases
  • in metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus

BIA measurement explained
Measuring body composition is quick and easy (takes less than 10 seconds).
A weak, imperceptible current flows through the body for the measurement.

Dual frequency measurement: The frequencies of the alternating current are chosen so that the first current flow around the body cells and the second current flow through the body cells. In this way, measurement fluctuations are minimized and the accuracy of the measurement is increased.

Since the different types of tissue in the body conduct electricity to different degrees, a subdivision into fat mass, muscle mass and water can be made. Additional values such as weight, height, age and gender enable an evaluation and comparison with reference groups. In this way you receive information about the nutritional and training status and, in the course of the nutritional intervention, the success of the nutritional intervention.
What must be taken into account for precise measurement results?
Various factors can interfere with the informative value of a BIA.

Therefore please note:
  • Up to 24 hours before the measurement: Avoid going to the sauna or strenuous activity and do not drink alcohol
  • up to 4 hours before the measurement: Please do not eat any more and do not drink any sugary drinks, coffee or black tea . Avoid excessive exercise.
  • Up to 1 hour before the measurement: If possible, do not drink anything more (max. 1 glass of water).
  • It is best to come with an empty bladder.
  • To carry out the measurement, you need the back of your feet to be free. Please do not use skin creams on your hands & feet before taking the measurement.
  • If possible, the measurements should be carried out under similar conditions and at the same time of day.
Safety instructions:
Body analysis for adults 18-99 years.
The BIA measurement is not suitable for: Pregnant women & people with implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators.
The following measurements are possible for children and adolescents aged 5-17 years:
  • Weigh up to 300 kg
  • Measurement of the percentage of body fat
